Our School Offers:

A well rounded program that gives opportunities for active, quiet indoor and outdoor play. Exploration of the physical world includes experimentation with art, media, and other creative materials. A dramatization of everyday experiences, rest, music, stories and conversation all come together for a worthwhile, exciting day. This flexible program is made possible by our well-equipped, safe and healthful environment, which is carried out by warm, friendly teachers who are willing to discuss your child's educational and developmental needs.

Curriculum

  • Our kindergarten curriculum is aligned with Common Core State Standards
  • Staffed with a fully credentialed teacher: Miss Alissa
  • Kindergarten Fundamentals: sight words, phonics, basic reading and math skills, classroom etiquette-social interactions
  • Academic learning centers emphasizing language arts, math and computer skills
  • The children that graduate from our program do well in both the private and public school testing


Full day Program

We are proud to offer a Full Day Kindergarten program.

  • Formal Instruction 8:45 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
  • Before and after school care is provided.
  • School Hours 6:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.



Kindergarten Class Outline:

Class instruction begins with Circle Time.

  • Pledge of Allegiance
  • Daily activities are introduced (based on weekly theme)
  • Calendar activities
  • Class discussion and sharing...emphasis on speaking clearly with complete sentences
  • Listening exercises...understanding oral directions
  • Music...learning songs, poems

 

Table Work Time

  • Develop good work habits...concentration, following directions, finishing assignments
  • Reading Concepts...alphabet, phonics, word recognition, introduction to books
  • Writing...proper penmanship, contructing and writing sentences
  • Mathematics...number sense, operations, problem solving

 

Recess/Outside Play/Snack

 

Arts and Crafts...based on weekly themes

 

Lunch and Recess

 

Afternoon Learning Centers

  • Understanding sentence structuring-writing
  • Math practice and application
  • Guided reading-reinforce reading skills
  • Daily message-teacher guided example of writing strategies
  • Journaling-students practice writing along with expressing own thoughts and creativity

 

Afternoon Recess/Outside Play

 

Follow up story, color sheet, inside play, puzzles, books, games.
